Causes
Nail fungus is the most common disease of the nails and usually occurs on the toenails, but can also occur on the fingernails. In this case, the person in question usually becomes infected with a so-called filamentous fungus. Yeast and mold fungi, or a combination of different types of fungi, can also lead to nail fungus.
Who gets finger and toenail infections?
Various types of fungal infections and sometimes yeast can cause these symptoms.
- People who have diabetes or are immunosuppressed, including smokers.
- People with chronic diseases or deficiency symptoms.
-
Athletes/athletes who have repeatedly hit the nail against the front of their athletic shoes
e.g. running on the road, treadmill, cycling or
playing tennis, etc.
This is a beating injury that causes a crack under the nail and allows fungal growth. Already present in shoes to grow under the nail:
-
Women who have acrylic nails done. Filing the nail tip opens the nail to
infection. Instruments that are not properly cleaned can transmit infection. -
People with Candida infections are prone to developing athlete's foot and
nail fungus due to stomach overgrowth.
Does the nail fungus disappear by itself?
If you have caught a nail fungus, patience is the most important thing. The nail fungus does not disappear on its own, even if the externally visible symptoms may have disappeared again. If the fungus is left untreated, it can become chronic. Therefore, it should be treated in any case.
Note
- Surgical removal of a toenail rarely helps and is therefore unnecessary and painful.
- The body sometimes pushes the toenail off by itself. This is usually slightly uncomfortable.
- The nail grows back and is usually still infected.
- Anti-fungal drugs can be very toxic, damage the kidneys, and the cure rate is low.
Nail fungus must always be treated
- If you have caught a nail fungus, the most important thing is patience.
- The nail is not healthy again until it has completely grown back.
- Since toenails grow only about 1mm per month, a treatment can last up to 12 months. That is why you should not stop the treatment prematurely. Because if fungal spores remain, it can lead to further infection.
- Apply Zynamed Anti-Fungal to the nail and as well as possible between the nail and toes 1-2 times a day or as often as necessary until symptoms disappear.
- For persistent nail fungal infections, supplement Zynamed Cleanse & Recover capsules for 3-6 months.
Disinfect
- Changing athletic shoes can help prevent sweaty/damp shoes from being worn day after day.
- Spray the shoes with an anti-fungal shower spray 1-2 times a week.
- The nail grows back and is usually still infected.
-
Shoes, slippers and socks can also be left in the sun on very hot days to kill
the fungus and its spores (seeds).
